About us

Press House — Palestine

Press House – Palestine is an independent, non-profit Palestinian media institution with no representative status, founded in 2013 on the initiative of a group of independent journalists, seeking to promote freedom of opinion and expression, support independent media, and provide legal protection for journalists in Palestine.

Press House adopts several strategies within its theory of change: building the capacities of journalists, strengthening the right of access to information, providing an independent media platform for dialogue and advocacy on media and social issues, and promoting the principle of accountability.

Press House respects the principles of human rights and public freedoms, and adopts an inclusive approach to delivering its services as well as a participatory approach to decision-making.

Our general goal

Contributing to building an independent Palestinian media that reflects the concepts and principles of freedom of expression and democracy.

Our vision

Press House aspires to play a leading role as a platform for independent media, freedom of opinion and expression, and quality journalism in Palestinian society.

Our mission

Press House seeks to provide an incubator for independent Palestinian media to strengthen freedom of opinion and expression by developing the professional performance of journalists in Palestine — raising competence, keeping pace with international media developments, and promoting professional ethics — in addition to building a network of media professionals, intellectuals, writers, and defenders of media freedom and human rights, and providing a space for dialogue that supports media and social causes.
