Legal protection program for journalists

The Legal Protection Program for Journalists at Press House – Palestine is one of the foundation's core initiatives. It aims to foster freedom of opinion and expression, defend media freedoms, and safeguard the legal and professional rights of journalists in Palestine, ensuring they can carry out their journalistic work freely and responsibly.
The program provides legal counsel and consultations to journalists, monitors legal cases and disputes related to their work, and offers guidance regarding their professional rights and responsibilities, in addition to reviewing media materials to clarify legal aspects related to publishing. It also helps raise legal literacy among media workers by organizing specialized awareness workshops and training sessions.
The program places particular emphasis on monitoring and documenting violations against media freedoms, gathering testimonies and evidence, and issuing periodic reports that spotlight the challenges facing journalists while strengthening advocacy and defense of their rights.
Through these efforts, the program seeks to establish a safer, freer media environment, strengthen legal culture among journalists, champion editorial independence, and contribute to safeguarding freedom of expression as a fundamental right and an essential pillar of professional journalism.
