Advocacy and networking program

Press House – Palestine serves as a vital geographic and professional framework for independent media, playing a prominent role in defending freedom of opinion and expression. The Advocacy and Networking Program is one of the core strategic programs in the organization's structure, aiming to create broader spaces for dialogue and coordination, and to unite efforts to protect the rights of journalists and media organizations.

1. Program Concept and Objectives

The Advocacy and Networking Program focuses on building bridges and fostering cooperation and partnerships between the Palestinian media sector, civil society, local and international human rights organizations, and decision-makers.

Main Objective:

To actively raise awareness among local, regional, and international communities regarding societal priorities, human rights issues, and press freedom in Palestine, while shedding light on the violations faced by female and male journalists.

2. Key Program Pillars and Activities

Lobbying and Rights Advocacy:

Organizing media campaigns, conferences, and meetings aimed at exposing violations of media freedoms, as well as issuing fact sheets and periodic reports documenting attacks against journalists and their rights to present them to international and human rights forums.

Networking and Building Partnerships:

Building bridges of cooperation with international diplomatic delegations, European Union representatives, United Nations agencies, and humanitarian relief organizations by organizing meetings and field visits for visiting delegations to observe firsthand the state of media freedoms and working conditions for journalists in the field.

Enhancing Coordination with Civil Society Organizations:

Working collaboratively with non-governmental organizations and professional syndicates to align visions and media discourse, reject hate speech, and consolidate democratic values and freedom of expression.

Providing Platforms for Open Dialogue:

Providing safe spaces and discussion platforms that bring together journalists, youth, and activists with public figures and decision-makers to address pressing issues and exchange perspectives freely and independently.

Integration with Other Programs

The Advocacy and Networking Program operates in complete harmony and integration with other Press House programs, such as the Legal Protection Program for Journalists, the Capacity Building Program, and the Media and Documentation Program, ensuring comprehensive protection and sustainable support for independent Palestinian media.
